Here is what holds most people back!

Track the number of negative thoughts you have about yourself for one day. Every negative word we say about ourselves is like a punch to the gut. If we do this dozens of times each day, imagine the impact it has on our well-being.

I used to be incredibly harsh on myself. Whenever I made a mistake or fell short, I would dwell on it for hours, tearing myself apart. It was like an addiction, constantly punishing myself for not being perfect. But guess what? It didn't make me perform better. In fact, it made it impossible to move forward. How can you succeed when you're constantly punching yourself in the gut?

I've learned to change my mindset when those negative thoughts try to take over. The moment I notice them creeping in, I find the silver lining in my mistakes and use it to move forward.

For example, one of the negative thoughts that used to keep me stuck was "I'm terrible at public speaking." But now, when that thought arises, I remind myself that practice leads to improvement. As long as I keep practicing, I can get better. By avoiding negativity, I give myself the chance to PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE.

Now it's your turn to reflect. Where in your life do you need to change your internal dialogue? Identify those negative thoughts that bring you down and counteract them with a neutralising or positive thought that resonates with you. Remember, being kind to yourself is the key to a fulfilling life.
