Don't Silence your SPARK✨

Jun 12, 2023

Do you ever feel like you're just pretending to fit in with others? Like you have to hide parts of who you really are just to be liked? Trust me, I've been there.

Last week, after working with hundreds of high school students, I remembered how scared I was to be myself during high school, and how lonely it felt.

It wasn't until I realized that when I hide my parts I thought others won't like, I was actually abandoning myself, AND I felt so disconnected from myself.

Seeking external validation is a pattern engrained in so many of us, driven by the fear of judgment and rejection.

But here's the thing: every time we suppress who we are to please others, we're telling ourselves we're not worthy. This leads to depression and a lack of inner peace. So, how do we work through it?

First, take a look at patterns. They're what truly run our lives. When do people-pleasing, perfectionism, and status-seeking patterns kick in? Becoming aware of them is the first step to rewiring the cycle.

Second, it's okay if not everyone likes you. When you're true to yourself, you'll inevitably turn some people away, but you'll also attract more like-minded individuals.

Lastly, try breathwork. Reprogram your patterns and become so intimate with yourself that what others say is just background noise.
